You know you've evolved from the lil' spoilt brat that u once were :

when you start doing grocery shopping wisely :)

i.e : You know where to get ur grocery goods where and what smartly at good prices.

e.g The Cadbury big choc 400g family bars are at AUD4 each only available from BigW.

Maltesers Tear N' share giant 330g bag for AUD 3.99!!! at K-mart

San Remo instant pasta packs for one serving specials at AUD1.09.!.:)for selected flavours only at Coles.

It's these times that you finally realise, when you go shopping wisely and actually read the brochures that they chuck in ur mailbox...

how much you've grown. And changed. Lols.

Random.

But what if you found out that it was all a lie ?

What would you do if you found out that someone you did care for (i.e a friend) told you something?

You tried your best to help.

But then you found out that it was all a lie.

Every single piece of it. They were just missing pieces to one big LIE jigsaw puzzle.

Although there were times that it shed light on what might just seem to be a lie, you forced yourself to look behind it and face the matter.

But,

Everything was a joke. The joke was on YOU.

What would you do.?

Would you forgive and forget?

Or would you just forget and not forgive?

Forget about all the times when you were friends,

When indeed all they were; were props,

Props to their giant masterplan of lies.

You're right.

I did take it the hard way.

Wk 5 : The uni life

Being in uni can be somewhat of an interesting experience. Its so big, its not like school. Ppl come from all over the world to study here, so you get to meet a diversified group of ppl. And really DIVERSE.

Doing all the work required, yet trying to take a short break is like impossible.! School and college from 8-3 or 4 evryday, 5 times a week totals up to 40 hrs! But that was no biggie somehow. Now, just 12 contact hours, yes 12 and I'm complaining. It feels like so much time taken away from u, still. And above all that, still backlogging and not completing assignments on time.

Herm, I wonder why. Still am. Must be the freedom that I get here or sth:) Taking 4 subjects, each with 6 units of credit. Working my way towards the double degree of BCom (Acct n Finance)/ BEc(FinancialEconomics). Triple major there. Gonna be 4 years of lugging my butt up to uni every week. Ppl say that commerce subjects seem simpler to science, but are they really? No matter what they say, I think science could be easier. Or is it just me ? Everything in commerce is so new! Perhaps its those never-ending years of science that made me realised how much I missed learning bout quantum physics, calculus calculus as well as organic and inorganic chem. There are times when my housemates (both engineering)would be doing their work that I would take a look at their books and notes. Just out of curiosity :) Eheh, can't believe I don't ever have to learn science nemore. To understand forces and how machines like drill pumps etc. work. Woot!

Makes me think bout why I went into science. Such a Malaysian thing to do perhaps?

Hmm, finished two quizzes already. QMA counted for 2% of the overall assessment, whereas 1612 counted for 15%. O.o My crystal ball tells me that there are gonna be more sleepless nights and more hours of reading the 849 paged finance book. More quizzes coming up in the future! In the near future, that is. Why do I feel like I'm gonna have less time to shop?

On a totally unrelated note, I know that if ever,

I spend more time on eating rather than studying, and that I don't graduate from UNSW, I know I'll always have this.

Bleukz

Maybe its time to update my blog a lil since its so long since I did anything. I'm in a good mood today anyway. So good mood equals time to update blog!

Its already Week 3 of uni! 2nd week for tutes. Met some interesting and great people. And not so great ones too. But its fun because:

In kindi n primary school :
- You meet ppl from around the district, like for me when I went to Sri inai, evbd was from round Ampang, Setapak, Wangsa Maju n the like. All close close la.

In secondary school :
- You meet ppl from all around the state i.e. KL n Selangor. Everywhere around KL. Hartamas, D.U, P.J. SEA, Bangsar, Puchong, Serdang, Segambut, Jinjang, Kajang. You name it la we have it. Especially when it is a good school, yea sure. One that stands head and shoulders above the rest maybe?

In college :
- Its all bout meeting people from all over the country. Yea mann. From Perlis to Alor Setar to N.S to Melaka right down to J.B and all over to Kuching, K.K and the like.

No-no's when meeting ppl from Sarawak and East Malaysia: (Speaking thru experience, haha)
is to ask them which 'group' they belong to. Being not-as-cultured as I thought I was, first thing I did was to ask them like where mar ? The group ? Like Iban, Kadazan, or Melanau, Bajau that kindof thing. Turns out, that rule only applied to aborigines, like Bumiputera aborigines. Hmm.

Zara's answer : "Modern Chinese laaa. What group ?"$!!!?@@

In uni :
I guess this is the maximum di, but hey! You get to meet ppl from all over the world, like seriously all over the world lorh. France, U.S, Australia of course, more Msians, Singaporeans, Thai, Mainland Chinese, Koreans, Japs, Indos and the list goes on and on.

uni, uni, uni

Liberal socialist clubs in uni..

Also : you really get to experience so many different cultures. Gotta get used to the Aussie slang. And for first-timers like me it can be a lil overwhelming, the whole culture shock. One month after I arrived here, great great experience : the Mardi Gras 07. Tis' true, the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras has grown from a local gay pride event to being arguably the most spectacular gay and lesbian event in the world. At least that's what it says here.

The start of the event.

Waiting waiting, and this fella keeps taking pics of the stickers on my face. Dunno for what reason la.

The city was like really really packed.

Some people had to climb a tree to get a good view.

Cupids I think.

Ehem. This was sposed to be Dreamgirls I think.

Golden Gaytime. Didn't know it even existed.
On another note, I just got a letter. Sth that went along the lines of compulsory voting in Australia.

The electoral roll is a list of all people who are registered to vote in Australian elections. In Australia, all citizens over the age of 18 must enrol to vote. It is compulsory by law to enrol and compulsory by law to attend a polling place at election time.

I am an Aussie citizen. Turned 18. And well turns out I am on the electoral roll. Therefore, I must vote. I know when it is, state elections are on the 24th of March. Yea all that is good. I am voting in the State seat of Coogee. That's really good to know too. I only have one problem. Erm, like who ? I don't even know who is running. Shall do research or sth I guess. Feels so mature I guess, to vote.

Camwhore time :

Lookies, new addition to my collection. Lurrve the ring :)

Ohh and bout kingsford and my new place :

View of the city from Hon's 8th floor place
Camwhoring in my room : love long mirrors.=)
The wardrobe is still not big enuff ;p Was empty, but before my 7 bags and 2 boxes arrived =)
Which place is not complete without a great toilet anyway ?
Our lounge, dining table and gaming place. Before we actually moved in. Back then when it was neat and tidy..

Hey

Oh yea I know I haven't updated for an uber long time. I always promised to do it whenever I can and whenever sumthink different and new happened but I haven't been able to actually sit down and complete a paragraph. So much has happened. It's been tiring and just doing everything. Busy busy larr. And my internet connection also not very good la. If you know me then you'll know why haha. This is just an entry to prove that I'm not dead yet, far from it haha. Just missing in action for a lil while la. Understand sikit la.

Anyways today was the first day of uni. Our econ1202 lect is damn cute la. Too bad his married di. All the garls are like wow!

Just the whole experience of uni life, I joined I'm not sure how many societes la but a lot. MSO of course, ecosoc, choc lovers club, french, wrestling?, young entrepeneurs, and muches more la. O-week was a blast! Hahaha esp the freebies. I guess just the experience of meeting new ppl, a feeling of deja vu everytime you see someone, like hey I've met this fella before. The newness, the connections and all, you'll realise this world isn't as big as you thought.

Somehow everybody is connected.

I've moved into a new apartment already. Its a 3br place. A whole Malaysian affair. The owner of the unit is Malaysian. Living inside, 3 Malaysian tenants. Right in the heart of Sydney. Well not in the heart la, sumwhere close larh.

They're cooking soup today. I'll just pop over and see if our kitchen is still in its original position. :)

Next entry will have lots of pics, everything I tell you. But for now, let's see what the guys are up to.

As Chinese New Year emerges from round the corner..

Its Sunday, this Sunday.

Where, for the first time in my life, I'm celebrating CNY away from home. In Australia.

I haven't felt homesick once, it's been two weeks, but not ONCE did I feel so far away and so absent, so distant, from Msia. But suddenly it all came back to me. When they were discussing where and what to do and who's house to go to this CNY. Or Chinatown maybe?

Somehow I feel like there is not enough emotion, not enough mood, like no feel la know what I mean? for culminating in the joyous festivities of CNY here.

CNY here?? NNNOOOOOO. Just doesn't feel right. Ishhh me very jealous of Jac, JiaHui n Ruth cuz they're all gonna have a chance to celebrate it right before they come Down Under for studies.

Getting more jealous now.

What I'm missing out these year, seemed like nothing and such a pain-in-the-ass before this, but now when you don't have it, you just think back of the old times and how you had so much fun doing it before :

- Long, way long before the CNY is the CNY shopping of course. New clothes for the new year! Isn't that simple enough? Damn, should've done it when I was in KL before I left. Now I have no new CNY clothes. Hmmph. Oh yea I have new ones, but they're not for CNY. Its just not enough feel la, where can? Must plan before buying CNY clothes wan wat. Evbd knows that. Not sum random ones which u just spent ur education fees on bought what rite?

- On lin sa a man, reunion dinner of course. Which CNY dinner is complete without all the members of your giant, hyper-extended family ?

- After dinner, we return to our respective homes and do the angpow wrapping. I dunno about other families la, but its mostly me n my sis that will help Mum n Dad with the angpows. Now, now. Which cousin gets which angpow. Which friend gets which one. All we do wan, u know. Don't mess. My sis and I. Except our own ones la o cuz.. Otherwise we'll freely chuck in another or a few other green or purples if u know what I mean.

-After dinner, rushing to temple at 11pm every CNY eve, squeezing in and out of Chi Cheong Kai just to get parking space.

-Meeting all the relos again at the temple.

- Masuk temple only, damn crowded and stupiak shorties dunno how to hold jossticks properly, and smoke gets in your eyes. No not the song but like seriously. Everybody tears when they come out of the temple. The thing is nobody is emoing.

- I decided to be smart and from last year onwards I wore my glasses to the temple. Haha still teared but not as bad.

- Have a chit chat after that, deciding where to have supper. Makan again. This family arhh, neva stop eating wan. Which Hokkien mee would it be this time?
"You wanna go to the one at Jln So and So or you want the one at Jln This and That?"
"Hmm So and So is only number 2 in KL la, nothing beats the Jln Blabla"
The talk continues and in the end it gets too late to even order, they would've been closed already.

- But the clock would've struck midnite already and somehow the adults meet their long lost friends in temple. Reward : kids get their first angpows of the day. Lurvly.

- And you know the famous old tradition, no sweeping, cleaning on 1st day for fear that it might sweep all the luck, fortune and prosperity away.

fook

- Wake up, get our second catch of angpows. Who else but from the parental units. Hehe.

- Ohh then the best part, the best part. Visiting and mengada-ngada la. From one house to another. Family to relos to friends. Angpow collection increasing after every house visited. Weight also. Somehow they just serve the best food.

- Oh yea, evbd in our family is vegetarian for the first half of the first day of CNY. It was supposed to be the whole day, but you know us carnivores can't take that, so our sentence was reduced to just half a day being a vegan and sek chai. PHEW! How could we possibly miss Auntie Lily's Nasi Kunyit and Rendang. And Kari Ayam. And Achar. And all those Indian delights which I can't remember the name of. YES, yes. All this on the first day of CNY. I know its not Hari Raya or Deepavali but our family works in mysterious ways.

- We meet lotza long-lost relatives too.

- WE gamble until the morning comes. BE it big or small. Evbd is a lan tou kuai. Last year we also learnt a new gambling card game, with much higher stakes than chor dai di. Who plays chor dai di anymore neways? Not heng anymore laaa. The new one, tou tei ju, (battle the landlord) we learnt in Guangzhou is the ultimate. 2 versus 1 in a high-risk, skill-involving, card game. Those with weak hearts and are unable to take loss easily, I rather you not try. I'll teach you la, when I come back.

- And after all that is done and we all go home and rest. Its time for us to do the giving. Its a neighbourhood tradition la. Hard to comprehend. But what we do is we give angpows to our two closest next door neighbours, both Malays. And some kam too I think. Maybe cookies too? I dunno how this started, but we do it every year and that's why we get angpows and food and cakes sometimes during Hari Raya and Deepavali. And invitations to their open houses. Quite fun ehh? Exchange exchange and all.

I'm so gonna miss all these mann. I need to head out to Chinatown. I need civilisation. I need CNY.

Ayakz, miss last year also when Ah Teh and I celebrated our bday's on CNY. His was on the first day of CNY, whereas mine was on the second. But I wondered why I had no luck gambling arh, that year?

I'm booking my flight ticket. I am definitely going to be in KL for CNY 08.

But to everybody reading this now, be it Chinese or non, Gong Hey Fatt Choi. May this be a wealthy, healthy and prosperous, not to mention great year to all.

Love,
Lee Na.

Of sickness and no mood-ness

Eish. I've been down these couple of days due to few reasons :
1. I bath late, therefore
2. I dry my hair late, by which,
3. I sleep late
4. The weather's been at 19 at night these few days, where I just walk around in a sleeveless or sometimes short sleeve tee, instead of jumpers and sweaters. I get cold.
5. Before I sleep I'm already like clinging to the sheets for dear warmth
6. I accidentally turn the air-cond on despite the weather being chilly
7. Wake up, feeling pissed off, tired and frozen.
8. I drink very little water here.

Effects of the above :
1. I have a sore throat
2. I have a cough
3. I have a blardy cold
4. I'm starting to get a fever
5. I can't eat my favourite food, in fear of making myself worse

And because of all that, nowadays I don't get a proper sleep. Most of the time I wake up blur and confused. Today, ayakz the pre-enrolment briefing. Sposed to be at 9.30. Soz lots, reach there at 10. Nth la, BORING!! Only perk is that free food, equals a sandwich, an apple, and bottled water. Good enufff.

Yea then Guan decides to wanna go check out the Queer Lounge, haih of all places. I tell you it was HIS idea. Yea TOTALLY his. I was just temaning him you know, in case he gets lost or sth marr:-) But I didn't think that they were actually gonna be queer ppl there la. What/??!! A place where they meet and chat up? And erm, discuss their feelings ?! Woah, just way too much for me.

I thought Queer was just a name. Like maybe the place has cool, futuristic, artso stuf ya know? Who would've thought uni could be so liberal? Try to do sth liddat in Malaysia, die mann. And so we had to search for the location online. A bit the malu la you know, ask ppl, "Would you know where the Queer lounge is?" Sure they'll give The Eye or sth. Better not, better not. Otherwise say goodbye to dignity :)

And so we decided to look for it online and at the mean time check out the library also lah. Good, good. Free Internet. And your normal printers, scanners and all that la. The library is BIG. Haha found QL! Applied Sciences building, Level 9! then jalan, jalan and couldn't find it on the map. Map is not updated. Ishh. Because UNSW changes its landscape ever so often, newer buildings are put up, older ones, demolished. The most recent one, the Law faculty. It has the nicest, ultramodern, and state-of-the-art architecture. In UNSW, there's just somewhat a comfortable blend in between the two; both ancient, pre-historic buildings(nola, not so bad)which were here since the uni was set up in 49, and also the modern ones, which gives a touch of splendour just to put everything in its place, where it belongs.

Just a preview of the canggih manggih Law building I was talking about.

What was I saying mann ? yes, map wasn't updated. But that's where Applied Sciences building was supposed to be. Only, what stood in its place now was a super canggih building called Chemical Sciences. Dunno la, must be the one. Jalan jalan found these two old pre-menopausal women discussing where to makan or sth, decide to ask them where the Applied Sciences are.

Hmm,
"Excuse me, where is the Applied Sciences building ?"
"You ARE in the App Sci building, but if you want Chem Sci blablablabla...
What are you actually looking for?"

"*blush* Ohhh, no we're not looking for anything. Just wanted to check out the building.."
"No, no. Where are you planning to go ? Because the Chem Sci building is on the other side" "Oh, we're not looking for anything specific. Its just that we wanted to get familiar with the building and layouts only"
"But WHERE are you planning to go? Are you 1st years?"
"Yes, we are. But thanks, just wanted to explore the building and get to know the area" (Malu, malu faster walk mannn)

(Mumbles to herself when walking away)
"These first years....."

But so we did get to the Lounge, only thing was that it was closed. Took a detour round the block to avoid ever seeing that woman again, tq very much. They open at particular times only, damn. There's a different time session for queer girls, queer boys, and queer mixes.

:s.

Haha, must definitely check it out again when its open! But neways, its 1.11a.m now, tired, gotta buy all my uni books tmr at 9. Blerkz, dunno can wake up anot. Will continue update tmr!

Tribute to G3 – truly one-of-a-kind class (ehem) and classmates YOU wished you had...

One whole year at Taylors, went thru so many ups and downs, more ups really, but what better way then to suffer thru all the assignments, common tests, mini-project (groans), and finally the FINALS with these other 27 ppl.

I dunno why I felt like blogging bout this, but all the memories from Taylors, Asia, Success, McD one day came rushing back when I was in uni the other day. And since I’m starting uni soon, don’t know when I’ll ever get another chance to say this; that I really, really enjoyed my time here getting to know and understand these fellas. Smarts.

Haha I know that sometimes we are referred to as the graveyard :s. Too quiet apparently. And one fine day when evbd is all rowday, the lects ask us to tone down again. What la. What do they want from us mannn?

But being with these ppl was far from being in a graveyard. Somehow, you just discover new things bout yourself. Things you never knew existed. Well basically I felt like I changed a lot. This bunch was much different from all the KL city ppl. Don't get me wrong, KL mali ppl are great! Its just that..just that..Well I felt that these fellas were somehow more genuine and real. Humble at that.

I also know that others do look down at this class. Jealous of smarts maybe ? But at the end of the day, these ppl are the ones that gain RESPECT in life. 10 years down the road, you see la. All our graduate doctors and dentists. Being with this class generally just challenges you, you always wanna do better. Talking bout that, I don’t care arrh, I’m gonna get BIG discount when next time I come and visit you arh. I don’t care. All you future brain and heart surgeons. Hmmph. Seems like I’m the only one who is switching to commerce. Major decision here, hope it’s the right one. =) Never enjoyed bio. Hmmph.

From L to R 3rd row, descending downwards.

WLee – Extension of the dees. Not the same first letter, but just as smart.

Joshua – Groupie from ESL research. For sum reason, rmb passing notes on what questions to ask each other. Nonsense betul.

GChuan – Cute fella la. When he smiles, his eyes form a straight line.

Dumex – Chem lab partner. Ahaha went thru plenty of shite with this fella.

Wilson- Prom king nominee. Thanks for temaning me until 5 sth that day when u didn’t have to.

David- Ehem, couple di =) Extremely cute. Both of them actually look so cute 2geda. Damn smart, doctor material but talks nonsense at times.

Danial – Hmm, seems like neva got a proper chance to get to know this fella at all. Wish i did though.

Dwayne – Ayohh, gone thru so much yea? I rmb the days at top floor library. You were studying, whereas I was reading gossip magazines :p

Lee Na – skip

Zara – I rmb the first time we actually got to know each other. I was the tour guide, and you hated fish. Said you’ll never eat fish for the rest of ur life.

Barb – One half of smart twins. Can be manly at times. :)Calls herself ah lian but doesn't know what it means, and yet I refuse to call her that, but she doesn't understand.=)

Shereen – Blarkz. Nonsense la this garl. Gonna miss you so much. All the times we argued on where to eat.

SAnn – The only garl that stands as tall as me. She’s slightly taller. Haha support edusmart! And dear, he’s not from G3 okay. You’re not psychic.

Ball-deep – First Kaur girl I got to know. Not a nerd, but extremely smart anyways. What do these ppl eat anyways ?

Bev – The other half, quieter one, and talks more softly and feminine-ly.

Jac – Slightly shy, but if you get to know her, she’s not really. Remember those times we dressed in trad clothes? Haha embarrassing la weii. But still enjoyed it.

HWei – Lyn’s bestie ?! Neva got a chance to know this garl muches too..

Piriya- Very cute, and one of the prettier Indian garls, IMO. Haha and rmb the times when we were like the only ones who attended the extra class ? Ayoh, maluness.

Nalls – I don’t care you better come down to Syd ar.. Otherwise I’m personally gonna head down south to kenakan you. This garl is da best laa. Eyy I still haven’t bought my Punjabi suit yet lehhh

Lyn – Great garl to know, this one has thousand of friends from everywhere. But I see why.=) Sociable, friendly and lovable.

Prabha – Hmm, yet another member of the infamous Wanita MIC. Hyper days.

EstherR – Same TER babehh. Yupp the days when we went all over Subang to look for a spot to ‘study’. Ended up going back to Taylors anyway. Hmmph.

MQuan – Professional balloon blower =). Responsible and caring. This garl will volunteer and spend her time helping underprivileged kids.

Others not in the pic :

Janice – Fights for women rights :p. Future woman leader. Sure will wear the pants in the family next time. Takes a lotta initiative into doing sth, really sets her heart out.

Ellen – Muahaha. The only person I know who has the same studying techniques as me. Was really great to know you. Pro at DOTA and pool. Has a very nice bf too. Haha say hi to Desmond!

Juzz – So sayang la this garl. The guys always break her heart. Don’t sam tong nemore la kk ?

Kristy – She’s damn terra man, damn rajin and prettay also. Got many secret admirers, some not so secret, haha. *ehem*

Amy – Sweet as ever, and thanks for lending me all your MrYap’s chemistry notes. What would I do without them I don’t know..

EstherC - Lasted for not tooo long arh? Hehe, back again I see=) Will be at coll the earliest to get the BEST carpark space rite in front of the gate. Will miss ya and Shereen the most..

Hais, I really doubt we'll meet up again. Hailing from all over Msia, its just real hard. Guess we're all gonna go our separate paths, but just wanted you guys to know it was fun getting to know each and every one of ya. But do keep in touch!

Lucks in your future endeavours and undertakings, hope you find the right one in your life, and have like a thousand kids or sth.

If I said or did anything wrong, soz lots.

But I still want my discount okayy?!!?

Haha I know I'm bird shitting again ok ? *winks*

A year older : not so much wiser but finally sees things from a different perspective...

I'm 18 today! Thanks uber muches to everybody who wished me all through yesterday (hmmph) where can cheat wan ? And today too, through sms, msn, friendster and esp in person =).

Specially you dear =) The first, but you cheated! K la, you didnt.

Woke up very late today thanks to late night online time..

Went to East Gardens today. I saw this shop, supposed to be a pre-autumn sale. I must not spend money. A lot of ppl in Australia told me that they don't or hardly shop in Aus, with the exception of Ebay. But this are guys la. You know garls are diff, find it just a lil harder to resist temptation. Just a lil.

Must control. Went in to the shop, was checking out four items. Not proud at all, was resisting the urge haha. Thinking, calculating, converting, planning how long and whether these would be a worthy investment, a long term plan maybe ? How long would it last? Should I get it ? Or not ?

This is not Malaysia okayy. In Malaysia no need to think wan. But this, being here, prices hiked up by 300% n all.. Must think a bit la.

Those were prettay tops. 3 tops n a jacket. Maybe if I just buy these four tops, I would be saving a lot for my future Haha. having said that, I was thinking that I shan't buy any others anymore. Not for a VERY, VERY long time. Long term investment plan. 4 tops should be alright mar rite ?

I see my future in a major in finance going well.

Hmm, after that, took a bus back home to Kingsford. This time I had six tops. Don't ask.

Equals no more clothes for an even longer time. Sighs.

My birthday dinner later equals a dinner at "Pancakes on The Rocks". Food there is awesome. 10 minute queue to actually get a table, but it was well worth it. Full. Walked to the Sydney Opera House. Touched it. Yes, you can actually go up and touch it. Splendid architecture. Sydney is famous for this anywayys. This place is breathtakingly gorgeous esp when its the first time you actually see it in real life, and not in the pics. But being the blur one, I forgot to bring camera damn. So took not-so-remarkable pics with my camera phone. Dont worry D520, still love you. Totally unwilling to part with it despite having the chance to get a new and more high tech and pricey for phone for FREE. Optus Postpaid. Hmms.

Nvm la, since I can't upload pics from my phone yet, I just found a random one online la. What did I tell you ?

Wished you were here, didn't ya?

Sydney Opera House by night
